Ecospec have been awarded the contract for the reconstruction of the Robe Marina Straddle Carrier Jetties. The works will comprise of construction of a new crane running beams, pile extensions and new abutments.

The scope of work entails:

  • demolition of the existing straddle carrier beams and upper section of the existing piles

  • fabrication and installation of pile extensions and walkway supports

  • fabrication and installation of new straddle carrier beams

  • installation of new fibreglass, reinforced walkways and handrails

  • replacement of the concrete lead in/entrance to the straddle carrier beams

  • removal and reinstatement of the paved area adjacent to the straddle carrier jetties

  • work will commence on site in mid October and would expect to be completed in early December.

General Manager of Infrastructure Maintenance, Layne Holberton, said he was very pleased Ecospec had been selected and were able to be a part of an important infrastructure project for the local area of Robe.
