Project Description

Robe Straddle Carrier Jetty Reconconstruction

Scope

  • The original Robe Straddle Carrier Jetty was heavily corroded. It required removal and replacement of the parallel steel jetty fingers onto the existing piles
  • The steel jetty fingers were cut off from the piles just above water level. New upper pile sections were installed by sleeving over the original piles, and load bearing grout pumped into the pile joint to lock the sections together
  • The new prefabricated and painted jetty fingers were installed to a tolerance for location line and level of +/- 2mm.
  • New approach slabs were constructed, and the original approach area paving that had sunk was lifted and re-laid.
