Russell Island Jetty

Scope

• Strengthening of the headstock beams using alternative structural solution provided by Ecospec. The alternative alleviated the need to break open the existing HDPE jacket pile protection and weld to the existing pile, therefore preventing even temporary exposure of the treated steel pile to chlorides and moisture. This also avoided compromising the denso and jacket protection systems

• Removal of loading trolley and rails from the timber deck and replacement of damaged deck timbers

• Reinstatement of non-slip transition sheets and jetty / ramp junction

• Removal of corroded redundant steel work

• Installation of decorative barrier at the end of the wharf

• Installation of new deck overlay and non-slip sheet surface. Design provided by Ecospec
